The Educational leader role
I work closely with the Educational Leader to thoroughly review the current programming and planning processes, helping to identify any gaps in knowledge or areas where improvements can be made. This collaborative approach allows us to clearly identify where Educational leaders may benefit from additional support, training, or resources, ensuring they feel fully confident in supporting and delivering high-quality programs that are responsive to the needs of the children in their care.
We discuss the role in full, identifying what further documentation may be required, where to access research, what resources are available to you in your role and also what types of support you can offer your team.
Streamlining Documentation and auditing the Planning Cycle
A key focus is to reduce unnecessary documentation and support educators in adopting a streamlined and efficient planning cycle. By doing so, we aim to minimise the administrative burden on educators while maintaining the integrity and quality of the educational program.
I provide strategies for documenting children’s learning in ways that are meaningful, succinct, and aligned with both compliance and exceeding expectations. This involves working with the Educational leader on how to guide their team to refine their observations, plans, and critical reflections, ensuring that they meet the requirements of the National Quality Standard (NQS) without becoming overly complex.
I help services find the balance between providing detailed insights into children's learning and ensuring that documentation is manageable and focused.

A fundamental part of the cycle is demonstrating a clear and thorough analysis of children’s learning. I can work intensively with Educational leaders on how to deepen their teams understanding of how to effectively analyse learning and link it to the planning cycle.
